Anders 5th Birthday!
Anders is getting ready to blow out the candles.
Anders had all of his school friends and cousins over for a party.
I think that was Aunt Jenny trying to get out of the picture.
Klondike Derby 2011
Aidan's first Klondike Derby. We brought the whole family to support Aidan. He did all sorts of activities. I don't know the real names of the activities but the first one was on the ski's with his team mates. The second one he and a team mate had to run down with a sled and pick up some fire wood and run back. The next one was an obstacle course and then off to learn about the compass. After that they had to put snow shoes on and run and tie a knot. And the last one they had to go pull a team mate around to different stations and give the cub scout promise and other things. Then they had chili for everyone. It was great fun!
Visiting the New Babies
We went over to see the new babies the first Monday after they were born. That's me holding Quinton and Abby is holding Shelby. They are just adorable! It was so much fun getting to snuggle them. They are so tiny, soft and perfect. They definitely look like Porter and Aubrey.
Cub Scouts
Aidan earned some badges and was preparing for the Klondike Derby. I guess the big kids got to play too.
Our Little Guy is 5!
Anders' birthday was on Wednesday, so we celebrated with cupcakes and his favorite meal which is "crabby patties"(chicken sandwiches). Then we had his first friend party the next night. He was so excited to have all of his friends over!
5th Grade Music Program
Abby and her buddy Max. I think they arrange them according to height.
Abby playing the xylophone.
Abby had a band concert after the music program. She has been learning to play the trumpet. She did so good!
The Christmas Tree Hunt
We went Christmas tree hunting after dark with no flashlights. We didn't get to far up the road before we decided to find a tree. The place we picked was kind of down hill, so from the light of my phone we picked a good one. Seth and Aidan took on the job of chopping it down and dragging it back while the rest of us ran back to the warm truck.
Then all the kids had to have their turn at trimming the end of the tree.Wishbone
Last year Abby and Aidan did the wishbone from the turkey, so I thought it would only be fair if Sophie and Anders got a turn this year. We got our wishes all ready and they each held on and pulled. The thing broke into about six different pieces. It flew all the way into the kitchen and we were by the back door. So we were not sure who got the wish. Hopefully both of them did.
Grandpa Oien
My dear sweet Grandpa passed away this November. He was 95 and lived a good life. I love my Grandpa and I will miss him dearly.
A photo of the kids and their Grandpa I snapped real quick as he stopped in for a minute on our way back from the funeral.
